Farewell and thank you to Stanger Secondary’s best

Speakers included former staff members and ex-principal Emmanuel Sambiah.

A dazzling farewell function celebrated four of Stanger Secondary School’s most experienced and dedicated teachers last week.

Robin Maharaj, who taught in the maths and science department, served as the school’s deputy principal up until his retirement in January.

He was unable to attend the function due to being hospitalised and the school community prays for his speedy recovery.

Viren Gangaram and Prathiba Gounden both retired in April.

Gangaram was part of the maths and science team and served as principal during his tenure at the school.

Gounden served in the languages team and was the school’s senior Afrikaans teacher. Mokesh Bisnath, HOD for the department of humanities, will be retiring at the end of June and was also honoured at the function.

Speakers included former staff members and ex-principal Emmanuel Sambiah.

Retirement at Stanger Secondary is never easy because of the bonds of friendship formed over the years and the school recognises and expresses its sincerest gratitude to all four teachers for the indelible mark they have left in the history of Stanger Secondary School and the local community.
