Ashton matrics awarded 100 % pass and 98.6% Bachelor degree pass

The Independent Examinations Board revealed that the class of 2020 achieved a pass rate of 98.07%, down from 2019's 98.82%.

Ashton International College Ballito once again secured the trust of parents as it shows off an untarnished 100% pass rate!

Bachelor degree pass rates were also outstanding, with Ashton coming in at 98.6%.

Despite a slight decline from last year’s pass rate countrywide, the Independent Examinations Board last Friday revealed that the class of 2020 achieved a pass rate of 98.07%, down from 2019’s 98.82%.

Ronan Declan of Ashton International College Ballito who scored a total of 6 distinctions.

Just over 13 000 matriculants wrote the IEB examinations, of which three Ashton students achieved results which fell into the top 1% of the country.

Shriyan Singh scored within the national top 1% for Accounting, at an average of 96%, while Declan Ronan placed within the top 1% for Business Studies at 94% and, Christopher Johnstone came in at the top 1% with Mathematical Literacy at 95%.

Kevin Boodhram of Ashton International College Ballito who achieved the top result with 7 distinctions of which two were above 90%.

Top matriculant at Ashton was Kevin Boodhram, who achieved 7 distinctions of which 2 were above 90%.

Kevin scored an aggregate of 88.42%, and was followed in second by Shriyan with an aggregate of 88.29% and also 7 distinctions.

Shriyan Singh of Ashton International College Ballito who placed 2nd overall among Ashton’s matriculants with 7 distinctions and an aggregate of 88.29%.

Declan and Shriyan have both been accepted to study at Stellenbosch University. Kevin has been accepted into the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden where he is studying for an architecture degree.

“As Head of the Senior College I am incredibly proud of the class of 2020, who showed determination during a challenging year. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, all of our students were able to sit their final Cambridge and IEB examinations on campus,” said Jenny van Buuren.
“We are thrilled that the excellence we continuously strive for extends to every single subject that we offer, with wonderful achievements being recorded.”
