Umhlali Prep chess masters shine

Their next assignment will be the SA junior championships in Johannesburg.

Umhlali Prep recently hosted the iLembe youth chess trials in which more than 70 players in age categories U10 to U20 competed.

This included 6 national players.

The school’s players held their own against the best of the best from across the district and made up the bulk of the iLembe team with 6 U10, 7 U12 and 7 U14 players selected.
