Kwasa Education and Skills Trust (KWEST) empowers iLembe youth through education support
The KWEST programme provides learning resources and mentorship to bright young minds.
Twenty bright and determined pupils from two high schools recently took part in an enriching session designed to empower them with educational support and life skills.
The pupils enjoyed a workshop organised by the Kwasa Education and Skills Trust (KWEST) at Workshop17 in Ballito Junction Mall.
KWEST is a locally run trust and public benefit organisation, led by Paula Green.
Established in 2022, the organisation is dedicated to supporting high-achieving pupils from financially challenged backgrounds. Currently, KWEST assists pupils in grades 9, 11 and 12 at Guzana Secondary in Shayamoya and iNkosi Albert Luthuli Secondary in Ntshawini.
The trust works closely with school staff to identify pupils in need and provides essential support, including school supplies such as uniforms and stationery, mentorship and extra tuition where required.
In return, the beneficiaries take part in voluntary work within their schools or communities, fostering a spirit of giving back.
KWEST actively seeks engagement with local individuals and businesses that can offer financial or in-kind support.
Their work depends on community collaboration to ensure deserving pupils receive the resources they need to succeed. If you would like to support KWEST, you can contact Green at 082 870 8008.
