Curro Salt Rock athletes selected for nationals

The trio will be in action in Potchefstroom.

Three athletes from Curro Salt Rock have earned the honour of representing KZN at the Athletics South Africa Sub-Primary National Championships in Potchefstroom this weekend.

Hugo Lotriet (U9), Arabella-Pearl Aleka (U9) and Oliver Oosthuizen (U13) will travel to the North West province to compete at the two-day track and field meeting on December 5 and 6 at McArthur Stadium.

Their selection follows standout performances at the KZNA Sub-Primary Provincial Championships held at Kings Park Stadium in Durban on November 22.

Hugo claimed first place in the 600m, while Oliver and Arabella-Pearl secured second-place podium finishes in the 800m and 60m events respectively.

Head of primary school sport, Phelelani Mtembu, praised the trio’s dedication and success.

“Congratulations to our athletes on this incredible milestone. We are immensely proud of their achievements and their selection to represent KZN at the national championships,” said Mtembu.
