Isnembe Secondary School eco warriors celebrate Attenborough
The school honoured the environmental impact of the British centenarian.
Environmental conservation took centre stage at Isnembe Secondary School on May 8 as pupils celebrated the 100th birthday of renowned British broadcaster and naturalist Sir David Attenborough.

Members of the school’s Eco Warriors Club, established in 2006, gathered to honour Attenborough’s contribution to protecting the planet through an interactive programme.
Events included a reading session on his environmental work, a prayer by Grade 9 pupil Aryan Gopal and a speech by Grade 7 pupil Nicole Mthethwa.

Grade 9 pupil Nomzamo Msweli led pupils in a pledge to protect the environment, while fellow pupils performed Boney M’s We Kill the World to highlight environmental awareness.
