The décor and venue has to be one of my favourites in town. Maro Zaroudoukas, the owner, really has put in the effort, it’s clean with a wonderful open feel to it. The menu is refreshing with quite a few items you don’t find on most menus. The breakfast section is extensive which will need further investigation for sure. The one thing that stood out for me was that everything is made on site, from the breads to all the baked goods and pastries and not many places can boast the same.
For mains we both had ciabata’s, mine was the Sunday spoil which was roast pork with butternut and holami. It was amazing. The pork had been slow roasted and was absolutely tender with ample toppings.
The Texan was equally good with fresh avo and chicken that almost fell apart when I only looked at it. I cannot fault them in any way. The bread was also top notch.
I counted about 18 freshly baked goodies on the display table and couldn’t help but have a home-made custard slice which was also extremely delicious.
My friend enjoyed his cappuccino, saying it rounded off his meal perfectly.
I did find our waitress a bit on the forgetful side, but she was still very friendly and helpful when it came to ordering our meal. I would like to see how they would perform on a busy Saturday as I have seen that place pump.
I enjoy how the owner uses her Greek heritage in her food. There is real attention to detail and she seems to relish using the freshest possible ingredients. I was hugely impressed and can’t wait to go back!
