Promenade is a mess, thanks to pet-owners

I fully agree with Cheryl and Ian Herda’s letter with regards to irresponsible pet owners (‘Pet owners should be more responsible’, Courier, September 27).
I have just returned from my daily walk along the promenade. What a mess ! Have all these pet lovers any regard for the rest of the community? They are quick to complain about how unfriendly Ballito complexes are, yet it is fine for their dogs to leave their mess all over.
Years ago no dogs were allowed on the promenade or beaches. Now it is accepted with no responsibility. I have no problems with dogs. It seems as though the problem lies with their owners.
Remember you are responsible for your pet, not the community.
