The Tongaat Diwali Celebration Committee is spreading a little cheer this Diwali 2013 by contributing to its food hamper drive.
The distribution will take place at Gokhale Hall in Plain Street, Tongaat at 10:00 on October 28. Diwali is an important time in a Hindu’s life and no family, irrespective of race or religious belief, should go hungry during this period. The hampers will be distributed to schools, senior citizens clubs and temples.
Any organization or individuals could also assist and pledge by donating R150 towards a hamper and to nominate families from their communities who they believe are worthy recipient by October 23, the donation to be deposited in the following current account:
