Farewell Ballito

Himal and Jitesh Patel have announced that they are leaving the Primi franchise in Ballito

It is with a heavy heart that I write this farewell to a place that has been our home for the past seven years. In 2007 my brother and I set up and began operating Primi Piatti at the Ballito Lifestyle Centre. I really can’t believe how fast the time has gone.

It has been an absolutely magical experience that has completely changed our lives. And, just as opening our restaurant was the lifestyle change that 2007 had in store for us, 2013 has brought another change and opportunity into our lives.

It has been a difficult decision, but my brother and I are both looking forward to new careers- he in an academic and corporate environment and me taking over the reins of a family business as my father retires.

As most of you will know, our business was a most intimate and personal venture. We have been welcomed and accepted into a community we were not familiar with, and starting a new business that we were nervous about.

It is this, the personal relationships and dear friends that we have made over the past few years which will be missed most. We hope that you have had as much fun and enjoyment at our restaurant as we have had in creating those experiences. These are memories that we will forever cherish, and why we worked tirelessly to find the best possible person to continue in this tradition.

We have engaged the services of Gavin Burnard, the director of operations and our mentor, to be the person operating our restaurant. As a friend and mentor, Gavin has walked by us through this journey and has a close relationship with our staff and our customers as the two most important components of this business.

My family and I would like to extend our eternal gratitude to this wonderful town and its beautiful people for supporting us, for inviting us into your lives and your homes. We need to thank the Ballito Lifestyle Centre and Primi Piatti for their continued guidance through our journey and for the great assistance as we worked towards our exit from the restaurant.

For all the friends that we have made, this is simply the beginning of another path in our journey together. To our wonderful staff, keep up the passion and continue providing food with love. You have made us very proud. Please take care and enjoy the life in Ballito that the entire country envies. Please do stay in touch with me (himal54@gmail.com).

Good bye and thank you once again for the magic that you brought into our lives. HIMAL AND JITESH PATEL Durban
