Last Wednesday I had to make a trip from the North Coast to Ramsgate in the south.
Traffic was heavy at around nine in the morning but was moving nicely. On the highway in the vicinity of Nandi Petro Port (which has ablutions available), I took a slightly blind corner and lo and behold, I thought I had seen everything.
I was driving in the fast lane at a speed of 120km per hour, and there just ahead of me, parked half in the fast lane and half on the kerb, what do you think I saw?
A man dressed in a police uniform was relieving himself in the grass. It happened so quickly I had to jump lanes to miss the vehicle. Fortunately for me I got a gap in the lane to my left.
Mr whoever you are, if you are that desperate, move to the slower lanes and then remove yourself and your car from the highway and do what you have to do if you really have to do it in public.
With all the horrific accidents taking place on the South African roads I think we need a new law to be passed.  No urinating on the highways or we will remove your bladder and all other body parts needed to perform the passing of urine!
