In response to the letter “We need increased police presence,” (November 22) , I am not quite sure upon which information or statistics she has based her findings or whether it is personal perception. This is of particular concern specifically in view of her statement “the crime is skyrocketing out of control”. In the matter of a police station in Ballito, it is not in my power to make such decisions, these lie with the relevant department at a higher level. In terms of “more police presence” the letter writer can be assured that whatever staff are available for deployment are deployed as strategically as possible.
