For once, words do fail me to express my profound grief and sorrow at the passing away of our heroic struggle stalwart although it was always my sincere passion to meet Madiba one day, I plead poverty that this wish was in vain.
But I did have the honour and privilege of writing to President Mandela and his administrative secretary acknowledged, with thanks, receipt of my letter. He also mentioned that the President had noted the content of my letter.
I, as an ordinary member of the Stanger and District Association for the Aged, am hoping to view the film “Long walk to Freedom”soon, based on life and struggle of Madiba.
As a shared receiver of the Nobel Prize and numerous accolades, I admire most his genuine ability to forgive and accept his oppressors. Dear Madiba I am sure your good soul will rest in peace continue to protect our country and its rainbow nation.
