Thank you for saving my life!

I went for a swim at Tinley Manor skiboat launch beach. It was a beach I wasn’t familiar with and it wasn’t long before I got caught in a rip and got into real trouble. I tried to float and to swim out of the rip and nothing helped. My friend Sue tried to help, but she too got into trouble and we had to let go of each other.
I was exhausted, terrified and starting to go under the waves and was about to get swept onto the rocks, when I saw a lot of people on the rocks. I called out for help (loudly and a lot!) and I couldn’t be more grateful as several people immediately responded.
I don’t know how to thank everyone who so quickly and so willingly risked their lives to save mine, especially Mark (I’m so sorry we didn’t get your surname) who helped Sue and Mark (Snoobab) Coetzee who seemed to reach me in seconds and literally carried me to safety.
You are amazing, a true hero and I can’t thank you enough! Even on the beach, Mark wouldn’t accept any token of my gratitude, saying “I was a Salt Rock Lifeguard, it’s what we do.”
