On 21 January my sons and I were involved in a motor car accident at the intersection of the on/off ramp to Ballito. Fortunately no one was hurt, but the reality of not having transport since then has been a long, stressful and frustrating time for me. Finally on Friday 14 March (seven weeks after the accident), I was given the good news that the insurance company representing the other party involved in the accident, had agreed to settle my third party claim and pay for my vehicle to be repaired. These days, people are generally too caught up in their own lives and issues to involve themselves in someone else’s problem. And so it is easy to lose sight of the fact that there are still those very special people out there who do see the needs of others, and who do care enough to put themselves out there to help. And so, I’d like to thank some amazing people who have supported, encouraged and helped me in a very real way: Greg Wilson (who witnessed the accident and was instrumental in my claim being settled), Lara and Norman Bellamy (who so kindly allowed me the use of their vehicle), Dhiya at Aram’s Panel-beaters in Umhlali for his patience and understanding, and last, but not least all my dear friends (you know who you are). Thank you so very much. Angels do exist – you’re living proof of it!!
