It is not cool to drink and drive

To the drunken idiot who was driving a black Corsa Bakkie, on Sunday afternoon heading down to the Hops at the bottom of Ballito Drive, I would like to inform you that you almost had a head on collision with me on my scooter, just after you nearly rode into a mother and her three small children as she crossed the road at the T-junction at the bottom of Ballito Drive.
It is not cool to drink and drive, it is not cool to travel at high speed in a built up area and it is not cool to overtake on a blind corner at high speed.
The elderly couple, visitors to our lovely town, who you over took on the blind corner and who witnessed your reckless driving and “almost collision with me” were so upset that they had to stop to gather their composure.
The elderly lady advised her husband “I thought he (me), was dead”.
Would you have been able to live with yourself for the consequences? What if it was a less experienced rider on the scooter, perhaps a young kid, who might have not been as lucky as I was?
I did report the incident to the traffic police, as well as the SAPS, and I hope and pray that you are caught for drunken driving and given a hefty sentence, before you do end up taking an innocent life on our road.
I wish that I had just knocked the daylights out of you when I caught up with you outside the Hops, but you were so drunk that it would have not been worth my while.
