My heart goes out to Sandira Naidoo regarding teachers (We can’t function without teachers, Courier, February 28).
There are teachers that get two government salaries, they are teaching and are councillors, whereas teachers have no jobs.
These teachers should resign and give other teachers a chance to get a job.
The biggest problem is that governing bodies should be established because they pay teachers peanuts and it is connection calls.
If they have families and friends they get all the contracts: teaching with good salary, grass cutting etc.
I served in the education committee and we had no corruption. I was in a primary school and high school.
The government must look into this matter seriously
