I wish to express my concerns regarding the letter of the above subject and comment as follows. Our present V W Kombi was purchased with Funds collected by our residents some 15 years ago and was driven by Siva Reddy for five years in which time he smashed this vehicle to the tune of R7500.
Our village requires much work to be done and we have never enjoyed a committee that is so dedicated to fixing things. Any diligent organization which is orientated toward improving the lives of its elderly residents, of who survive on the old age pension of R1350.00 per month and rents that consume half of this will engage in fund raising to assist its members ? If this is “BEGGING” then we are not alone. So all who collect funds are beggars.
Siva Reddy does not enjoy a Government Pension and so has plenty of money and cannot rank with most of our residents and should buy his own BMW.
