In support of the article “ACDP branch stands with Israel”, (Courier, August 8), this march should not have been supported by our municipality as it does not represent the entire community.
There are other more important issues that the municipality could sort out and should be doing swiftly. There are many issues unattended for months which can be given priority as the entire community should come first.
According to our law, any group is allowed to hold demonstrations to show their support but it was unnecessary for our municipality to pay for it. Surely this is being biased to a particular group? By this precedent set, any organisation can demand the same! Our municipality should be wiser in making decisions in the best interest for the entire community.
Part of my rates was used and I totally disagree with the wastage!
