It’s 5pm on a Tuesday afternoon and we have been without electricity since 2pm on Monday, a grand total of 27 hours. I pen this letter as my freezer is busy defrosting, but I’m sure your readers have heard it all by now.
The incompetence of the electricity department is now beyond notorious, as we either get continuous ringing, as they clearly don’t have an answering service, or just a whole bunch of different stories from the nonchalant person on the other end of the line. Seriously, I am visualising the deadpan expression!
Finally, finally, some sort of real feedback, and I must commend him, even though I’ll have to get a take out dinner again. Mohan from the electrical department has methodically explained the fault to me and promised that the electricity will be restored by 10pm. I wish there were more like him at KDM. Wishful thinking, I suppose.
