As we live on Ocean Drive, the main road in Salt Rock, I do try and maintain a neat and tidy verge garden with a display of local plants.
We awoke at 3am on October 18 to the incessant, loud on/off revving of a motor and assumed there had been an accident with attempts being made to re-start a motor or buzz bike. We heard the English speaking voices of two males so I convinced my husband it was not necessary for him to go out and help.
At 7am we went to see if there was any evidence of an accident and to our horror, found “The Chain-saw Gang” had cut down every single Agave planted against our boundary wall, leaving them piled on the verge. For what reason we cannot imagine except for their obvious abhorrence of these particular plants.
What cowards though. All that would have been humanly acceptable was a knock on our door to request removal, at least we would have known why. Thank goodness my husband did not offer assistance as he may well have been attacked with a chain-saw by these 3am maniacs! We not only contend with “road-rage” but now, “plant-rage”!
