After reading the article “Residents fight water plant” (Courier, October 17), I was amazed that they could be so negative about having a desalinating plant.
There is one in Plettenburg Bay, right next to the Beacon Island Hotel and I doubt that any of the guests at the hotel even know what it is. I have attached a photo showing the plant. This picture was taken from the balcony of the flat where we were staying. My husband was shown over the plant and he found it all very interesting. There is no pollution, and as you can see from the photo it is not an eyesore. They can desalinate 5 megalitres ( 5 million litres) of water per 24 hours.
