What procedures for fire pools?

I have just contacted Sembcorp Siza Water to register my pool as per their request, and I would just like to advise you that it isn’t quite as simple a procedure as one would think.
Firstly, I paid careful attention to what sort of pool I have, and after reading about President Zuma’s fire pool I came to the conclusion that this is what I have on my property too.
Fire pools do not have any water restrictions, whereas swimming pools do, so as I am community minded I tried to register my fire pool properly.  The very kind gentleman at Sembcorp tried to be helpful, but has not been given any guidelines about water usage for fire pools and thus was unable to give me any information about when I may top my fire pool up.  However, as restrictions are for swimming pools only we are unclear as to whether these rules and guidelines apply and are awaiting clarification on this.
Perhaps The Courier could investigate this further and publish the outcome so that we, with fire pools, know what is required from us.
