Thank you for a well run event

The Miss Ballito Pageant is one of the Rotary Club of Zimbali’s biggest fundraising events that spans an entire year of preparation, community service, upliftment and mentorship of young girls in our community.
The MB committee comprising Rotarians and non-Rotarians, start their planning of the pagaent programme in January. Entries opened to the public in April. The mentorship and upliftment programme is offered to all semi-finalists and is administered by the committee together with volunteer experts on specific topics eg. deportment, public speaking, confidence and community service.
The girls are then introduced to the judges and are put through their paces with a series of interviews for a month from June to July after which the finalists are chosen. The judges are given a second opportunity to pick the winners at the cocktail evening and auction which this year was held at SMD Ballito in August.
September saw the girls get involved in a community day with the kids from Summerhill House and a potjie cook-off together with their family and friends.
The crowning evening on October 17 brought to an end the girls’ development journey and the judges last opportunity to make sure they have their winners. A phenomenal evening was had by all.
