Some well meaning soul told us we should watch Youtube car accidents to learn about avoiding the same. We sat through a whole lot of videos. We scared ourselves silly but learnt a lot:
If you live in a country where they don’t speak English, and they drive on the wrong side of the road, you can expect an accident every minute or so.
We can now swear in Russian.
Don’t drive fast.
Don’t drive slowly.
Never ever overtake anywhere, under any circumstances.
Cross roads are seldom safe, especially when the lights are green for you.
Eighteen wheeler behemoths are exterminators. So are buses and trains.
Rescue workers are amazing.
Stay at home.
If you see two old dears sitting bolt upright in a tiny yellow Atoz, staring wildly in all directions (fully expecting the rest of the vehicles to suddenly skid crazily all over the ice and snow) please give them a wide berth. They are really relatively harmless.
