I would like to comment on the new so-called lanes to ease traffic on the P445.
Who believes that this traffic congestion is going to be reduced? I certainly do not. The main problem with the traffic congestion is:
1) The M4 comes to a stop at a robot. If the robot is not operational, then what happens? Traffic backs up to Zimbali circle.
2) The N2 off-ramp comes to a robot – again stop and go.
The M4 is used by all road users who are wanting to bypass the toll booths. For traffic to be less congested we as residents of Ballito should first start by asking that KDM municipality ban trucks from driving through Ballito.
Secondly, who remembers when the M4 was behind Hirsch’s? If this road was still there, how much better this would have been. Those that want to go to Ballito, drive on and those that are passing through take the diversion behind Hirsch’s.
