As a guesthouse owner, I have had 17 Rage students staying here, and they have been absolutely awesome! They knew the rules before they arrived, and have not been a problem in any way whatsoever – being well behaved and respectful.
What I am annoyed about, is the fact that the Rage Cage was moved to Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban, this year, with most students not being made aware of this happening! I, too, was not aware of this change of venue. My group only found out in November when they’d already paid their deposits as far back as March this year. As a result, the students I’ve had staying here, have had to fork out enormous taxi fares to get to Durban and back – or socialise at Crush or Sub-Zero, both clubs being so fully packed, that it’s not been much of a pleasure for them at all. They’ve indicated that they will not be back again next year, as it would be cheaper to stay in Durban. They also claim that it’s now a free for all, meaning that it’s not just a “Matric-thing” anymore – any age group can attend.
So it would appear that the matric end-of-year Rage party is a thing of the past here in Ballito or Umhlanga Rocks. Apparently no suitable venue could be found for the Rage Cage in Ballito this year.
This info was passed on to me by the students I have had staying here for the past ten days.

My understanding is the Rage Cage was moved when the organisers saw Ballito’s traffic situation. You can sympathise with them? – Editor.
