On behalf of Ashton we would like to thank you most sincerely for the superb newspaper you put together week after week.
We at Ashton would like to make use of this opportunity to thank the community of the Dolphin Coast for their continuous support of our growing school where we strive for excellence in academics, excellence in sport and excellence in culture.
One of our highlights every year is the Debutantes and Squires programme, who through the support from our community, managed to raise the incredible amount of R126 000. These funds have been distributed to Greytown Childrens Home, North Coast Courier Orphan Fund. St Lukes’ Home of Healing Tuinsig Old Aged Home, LIV, Choc and paid school fees of two orphaned students to take them through 2015.
The phenomenal people in the community who have supported the efforts of the youngsters who are making their voices heard in the battle to Save the Rhino, our regular visits from the residents of Westbrook Retirement Village who have been able to share an evening of music during the senior college performance of Grease, and more recently their utter enjoyment watching the Bats on stage in the Grace Hall. All this from young ambassadors who try to make a difference in the lives of some less fortunate.
A lot of effort has gone into the Rhino campaign to save the animal for future generations. A large amount of money was raised and sent to the Rhino Art Foundation and after attending the Rhino Youth Summit, our students are taking the next leap and will attempt to climb Mount Kilamanjaro to raise awareness and funds for the rhino projects.
None of this could have happened if it wasn’t for the generosity of people in our community. Together we make a difference
We at Ashton wish the Dolphin Coast Community a blessed festive season.
