We have always enjoyed our vacation in Ballito, particularly taking nice walks on the walkway alongside the beach.

Now we have to dodge all the hawkers selling their goods on the walkway, where you have to pass them in single row file with the sellers and their children lying on the ground and sitting on chairs on the walkway. This makes it very unpleasant for holiday makers and residents to enjoy their stroll along the walkway.

Surely something can be done about this, for example allowing them all a particular area to sell their goods away from the walkway and beach areas. It will attract people who want to trade at a specific area where all can go if they want to buy items from them.

On one particular beach, there were hawkers with open umbrellas taking up space on the beach, hiring out the umbrellas and plastic beach chairs.

What is happening to trade restrictions on the walkway and beaches in Ballito? This is totally, in my view, really not the way it should be done. Something should be done about this!
