Regarding the letter by D Govender of Shakaskraal (Land claims make no sense, March 6), this man need to remember how the land was grabbed from its owners by whites.

The mindful person knows that you can not be proud to call yourself an owner of something you purchased from a thief.

Mr Govender and Indian farmers need to know that the land you say is yours was taken from its owners without compensation. They lost their cows, goats and fowls and had to go start life somewhere else.

You must thank God that you will be compensated. You don’t need to be compensated as everybody knows that buying a stolen property is a crime.
