Regarding the roadworks, the “end” leaves much to the imagination as, when we get to the end of those superb three lanes, we are confronted with the chaos and mayhem of the “temporary” taxi rank. Throughout the day but specifically at peak hours, we have to negotiate our way round taxis double parked or take evasive action when two or three of them ignore red lights.
The relocation of the rank has been very quiet of late. Is it still happening, and when?
The Mega mall will certainly bring revenue into the coffers of the KwaDukuza municpality, some of which, I hope, will be used to demolish the remaining skeleton of the original mall which is now a vermin infested ruin, and the next door Ballito Bay Mall as, after the first quarter of 2017 when the Ballito Junction is due to open, The Bay Mall will, for sure, join all the other derelict structures in this town.
Mr Oelofse‘s comments regarding retail and tourism may be pertinent but, what is the impression of tourists to our town when they stroll along the boardwalk and see the falling down remains of the Big Blue, and drive around town to see the other sights I have mentioned.
