This weekend I had to say farewell to my Lab, Max, that has been with me for 15 years. Anyone who has had to take an animal to be put down will know it is a bad day to say the very least.
I find it strange that I am compelled to share this story with others but people have to know that even in misery there are outstanding leaders in our town.
I took Max to the Salt Rock veterinary clinic. I don’t believe I have ever seen such a display of empathy, compassion and professionalism. I am certain they will forgive me for not remembering their names, so much is a blur but now I can at least say thank you. I now know what the word dignity means.
A very heartfelt thank you for being in our town. Max runs in meadows of grass and rivers now. I reckon he thanks you as I do.
