I went to the Salt Rock library on Tuesday at lunch time. Our usual librarian was on holiday, and the desk was manned by three gentlemen.

Books were everywhere. The counter was groaning under the weight, and the “pack away” trolley was overflowing. The three “librarians” were on Facebook and no work was being done.

When I did approach the desk to leave, and have my books stamped, it was only when I clicked the camera button on my cell phone, that the Facebook screen was cancelled, and attention was given.

It really does make you appreciate the hard working, smiling librarian that we do have, and the attention that she gives to us the public.
