Our road works are nearing completion and there is not even a hint that a new taxi rank is being developed.

The present one is not suitable to the commuters nor is it a safe place to drive given the way these taxi drivers disregard the rules of the road. The new taxi rank should have shelter and ablutions. At the moment the commuters are washing their underwear and themselves in the shopping centres’ toilets. After all these commuters are people who work in our homes and businesses and deserve to have decent facilities.

I think this is a job for the UIP that is going to do many things to improve Ballito. We certainly need them now more than ever as our town with derelict and unoccupied buildings increase.
