The recent xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals and looting of their shops is a grave concern to South Africans who have deep cultural and religious roots. Today we should stand proud as one South Africa, with one body, one mind and one spirit.
Unfortunately South Africa is a divided nation, brought about the promises of 1994 that still need to be realized. To add fuel to the fire, King Goodwill Zwelithini needs to openly declare his comments whether rightly or wrongly, don’t use your spokesperson. What are you hiding or fearing, to openly declare to us as proud South African of the Indian diaspora, to correct your comments that your spokesperson says the “media misquoted the King’s statements”.
Zuma’s government must take the blame for the influx of foreigners and relaxation of immigration controls and the poor state this country is in today. The government cannot keep blaming Apartheid.
Mr Zuma, you and your cabinet need a serious shakeup, a wakeup call, that the ship is sinking and you as government can’t smell the roses.
South Africa belongs to all who live and work together, building a democratic, non-racist, non-sexist South Africa for all.
