Ashton International College would like to express their sincere appreciation to the SAPS and Imvula Security who swiftly and professionally, addressed the striking government-employed teachers, who brought their strike action to the gates of the college.
The handful of SADTU strikers were met at the gate by the SAPS and Imvula Security as well as Executive Head, Mr Joe Erasmus. They were informed by Mr Erasmus that they were trespassing on private property and that Ashton is a private college with no teaching staff on strike.
They left within minutes, and there were no incidents of violence or gun shots of any nature, as reported in other social mediums. It is important that these rumours are not spread amongst the community to create sensationalism.
