“A liberated person sees all the earthly creatures, those in bodies of human beings, animals, birds, fish, insects, plants, or whatever, as eternal spiritual entities temporarily encased in diverse material coverings. Thus a liberated person sees that every living entity is equal to oneself and is worthy of respect and concern.”
Whether we are talking about “canned” lions in “canned” hunting places or lions living in an area covering 2.5 million hectares in Western Zambia (TwoBits, Courier August 7), killing for fun can never be justified. Fortunately, as the outcry over Cecil the Lion shows, society is slowly starting to think likewise.
