I would like to put to the concerned authorities the very bad state of the Watson and M4 highways.
The grass is creeping up to the yellow lane, branches of the alien trees are overhanging the road. I wonder whose cars are scratched! The warning robot before Crawford North Coast was knocked down and the M4 is filled with sand opposite Desainager. Those are the same reasons why I was hit by a taxi’s wing mirror last week.
Why are the two roads in such a state? Should another cyclist, Tongaat Panther or Dolphin Coast Strider die before it is cleaned?
Are we also going to hear one of those “we are waiting for an environmental impact assessment and then we will widen the road” stories? Or is it going to be “the public is always complaining” response?
Are we allowed to take our own tools and correct what we see as a problem? Who is responsible for these roads? Do they know that the Watson highway has become a popular drag racing joint? Day and night.
Until something is done about these roads, the athletes have no facilities, and no one will beat his chest and say we support athletics.
