Apropos absolutely nothing at all, I need to know if it’s me losing my marbles at a startling rate, or are there others out there with the same odd dilemma.

Every time I wash up, I guarantee that when I pull the plug, there will be a teaspoon left in the sink! Just one solitary teaspoon, that has somehow escaped all the feeling around prior to pulling said plug.

I swear that even if I hadn’t used a teaspoon there will still be one left behind. I am also certain that if all the lakes and oceans on this planet were drained, each one would have that blasted teaspoon lurking in the depths! I would give up washing cutlery, but time would come when I would need that perishing teaspoon.

Anyone else out there losing their marbles at the same rate as I am?

I wonder if that student of strange phenomena, Don McCullough, who wrote in on another matter a few years ago, might know if there could be a link between your lonesome teaspoon and the solitary sock that is found either in the washing machine or in your sock drawer. Given enough time, and perhaps a government grant, he might be willing to explore whether there’s a song in it, that might contain the line ‘. . . and the sock ran away with the spoon.’ – Editor.
