I have seen an abundance of posts on social networks about the Paris attacks and I feel the same way as other people. It’s a horrible situation to be in. I’m praying for Paris.
However, I’m also praying for the victims of: suicide bombings in Beirut; genocide in Palestine; earthquake in Japan; earthquake and hurricane in Mexico; funeral bombed in Baghdad; attacks in Lebanon, as well as any other countries going through various forms of devastation too but have got barely any/no media coverage.
The Paris attacks highlight western vulnerability and our selective humanity and sympathy. Calamities are happening all around the world and we must all just pray for world peace, not just for countries we wish to spend our summer holidays at.
