In response to the letter ‘Municipal removal service” (Courier, January 8) from Stephanie Greenhalgh, we would like to draw your attention to three points:
Firstly, the KwaDukuza Fire Department is a professional EMS outfit. They take pride in their equipment. Polished, clean and clearly branded. They will not respond to a fire with a Jojo tank strapped to the roof of a fire truck. Nor will they respond to a furniture removal (and/or) rates request.
Secondly, the X-Treme Cleaning Solutions branded fire truck which you have photographed is a practical answer to our business needs, be it multiple storey high-pressure-cleaning, water deliveries or even furniture removals (if we really wanted to). It is our new company vehicle that can carry staff and cleaning equipment safely.
Lastly, there is no illegal doing in acquiring a decommissioned fire truck or having your own private fire truck.
While we will concede that the existing colour-way is not in our branding (it is a used fire truck after all), our auto-painter is back from holiday and the truck is currently being rebranded. See attached render.
