Security has some explaining to do

On Sunday March 13, I arrived at Virgin Active Ballito at 4.15pm. Sundays are always quiet and so the few cars that were there, were parked in the front of the gym.
I hear horror stories of how lockers are broken into and so decided to leave my bag in my car – as I always do – because I believe it to be safer in my locked car, in the view of three cameras and under the supervision of the Enforce security guards. However, this theory only works if the security guards are actually doing their job.
I left the gym around 5pm to find that my car had been broken into and completely cleaned out! I went from instant shock and sadness to fueled anger. The only Enforce security guard on duty that day was found downstairs, in the EMPTY underground parking lot, “guarding” himself from the wind.
A witness at the gym said she had seen the security guard standing next to my car before he made his way to the lower parking. The CCTV footage confirmed this and showed that it was mere minutes before two men arrived in a white Hyundai i10, stopped directly behind my car and proceeded to help themselves.
On a positive note, I have to thank the Virgin Active staff – especially Dominic and Xoli – for being so wonderful! They acted quickly and were very supportive and helpful.
However, Enforce Security have some explaining to do. I have sent many emails asking them to get back to me so that we may discuss this issue. I need to know if the timing of their employee moving from my car to downstairs is just a horrible coincidence and he was just slacking on the job, or if there is something more going on here!
Either way, in broad daylight, under the supervision of a guard, this should never have happened!
