Dangerous wheelie maniacs

I live in Chaka’s Cove Flats. We have two high walls on our road between the complexes. Road users love to accelerate along this stretch of road to hear the noise of their engines.
The pavements are narrow and pedestrians ample, leaving about a metre between pavement and road. Holiday families and their children are parked on the pavements to and from the beach. Parents tend not to hold their children’s hands while walking there. They run as they please and possible death is half a metre away. They could trip or stumble at any moment.
My penthouse overlooks all of this. It’s horrifying to see how little responsibility most of the parents demonstrate. Motorcars and trucks are plentiful and at speed, zipping past the children. The speedhumps are sometimes enjoyed by motorbikers to get their road bikes on the back wheel for long distances, even overtaking a couple of cars on a blind rise. Does that make them a hero?
These idiots could kill whole families on their beach visit. What’s up with people? I have lived here for more than 50 years and Ballito used to be paradise to me. Now it scares me in many ways.
