The last thing we need is a politician, especially a complacent one, to represent a constituency in local government.
What we need is someone who is available, informed, and connected with the people they represent. The person must ensure that constituents’ needs, opportunities, and concerns are tabled at council and kept on the boil until they are addressed.
They must also ensure that the plans, intentions and work, and any shenanigans, of the municipality are effectively communicated to their constituents. We need a gutsy fighter!
I am all for giving Tammy Colley a chance. She has grown up in a home that has a social conscience rooted in its DNA. She must also have learned an incredible amount just from seeing and hearing her mother in action. I am also sure that she can, and will, bring her ward into the 21st Century of communication technology.
