The sentence of six years imposed on Oscar Pistorius for the murder of Reeva Steenkamp is an insult to women all over the world.
A person who willfully shoots someone through a closed door thinking there was an intruder, even though your partner is not lying next to you in bed, should be given at least the minimum sentence for murder which is 15 years. This judgment has now set a precedent and has given menthe authority to kill their partners and using the same
excuse as Oscar.
In order to fight for women’s rights the state must now take this matter to a higher prosecuting authority and have this judge recused from this case as she clearly is not meting out justice fairly.This mild sentence given to Oscar has shamed our nation and brought our justice system into disrepute.
