LETTERS: Too early to ease restrictions?

We see that Siza Water have announced a rather big change of restrictions from 50 % to 20% due to the introduction of the new recycling plant.
Whilst this may appear to be good news, is it not a little premature? Hazelmere Dam still remains below 50%, a level we the citizens of the area have managed to maintain with our combined efforts to save water as per the 50% restriction limits.
We assume that the new plant input will ensure we continue to maintain the dam level. However, by reducing the restrictions may it not open the flood gates (excuse the pun) where by undisciplined people will no longer abide by the new rules of the 20% restriction thus using excessive water?
Perhaps a better solution would have been to wait until our dam is full and then reduce restrictions after all we are still in a drought situation and recall only a few months ago that experts were telling us that we should get used to heavy restrictions as water will remain very scarce in this area due to the demand and lack of storage.
Perhaps the reason for the 20% restrictions could be more to do with the fact that the investors of the plant have to see a profitable return, hence the allowance to use more water.
