In the spirit of Nelson Mandela an appeal was made to all Zinkwazi and Darnall residents to assist in donating vital household items plus basic foodstuffs for the 15 Zamani homes in which the 51 children are housed and cared for by loving Gogos.
The response was overwhelming and each home was supplied with a selection of goods apart from generous deposits made into the orphans’ account. We as a committee are continually humbled by the generosity and caring of all those who are aware of the needs that are prevalent in the surrounding areas and wish to take this opportunity to offer our heartfelt thanks.
We also sincerely thank Tongaat Hulett Limited for their contribution of luxurious blankets and supplies of sugar for each home, again donated in the spirit of Nelson Mandela Day.
