I agree with the letter of G Dunn (Courier, August 12) that it is premature to ease water restrictions.
As at today, August 10, the dam level is at 53.72%. Have we all forgotten that 15% is silt, which leaves us with a mere 38.72% of a relatively small dam.
Is it necessary to wash your precious status symbol car, using a water wasting hosepipe? The garden survived on dew and a little bit of rain (except for the recent floods). It is not growing season yet and plants can survive being watered once a week and not twice.
Do we really need to top up our pools with potable (drinking) water? Why can’t we stick to recycled water for that purpose? Washing of roofs and driveways unrestricted?
What has gotten into Siza?
