Jumbo Jet (JJ), the cat who nearly died of starvation, has decided I am a serial cat abuser. I keep hauling him off to the bathroom, holding him down and forcing food and water between his clenched teeth. He thinks I am choking or drowning him. We both end up drenched and he, anyway, is cross.
His tail is getting a lot of exercise.
He has perfected a look only cats can adopt. He flattens his top eyelid and glares at me. I am now persona non grata.
Ron, on the other hand, is his hero. All he ever does is cuddle the cat and tell him how wonderful he is using a special voice he saves for his beloved cats.
Jet has to stay in the bathroom at night because we can’t let him escape through the cat door. He hates it and wants to sleep cuddled up to his favourite person. Guess who has to put him in the loo?
He is a strong little skeleton now and is winning the feeding struggle. Hopefully he is getting enough cat pellets down when he tries eating. I am designing a soon-to-be-patented kitty straitjacket.
Right now Jet has taken himself off to the sleeping loft and is making himself as heavy as he can. Hope I don’t fall down the steps.
This has given me a new insight into the plight of the concentration camp survivors. They were not just given lots of fattening food and a pat on the head. They had serious organ dysfunction and heavy PTSD. Their care must have been a whole new story of heroism.
Thanks again to all who helped so much. We have some amazing people around here.
