LETTERS: Pepper bullets burnt our eyes and lungs

On Sunday September 4, at around 4pm a troop of monkey came into our garden in their travels around the neighborhood.
My wife and I were pottering around the garden when we both were suddenly overwhelmed by a terrible smell and fumes which burnt our lungs, eyes and made our ears ring. We were both experiencing discomfort hours later and, we suspect, our pets were too.
It turns out someone in our immediate vicinity has been firing solid and pepper ball bullets into our garden at the monkeys. We later found the solid and remnants of pepper ball bullets scattered in our garden. We chatted to who we could find in the area to see if we could find out who had been firing a paintball gun, but no one owned up. We have reported the incident to the Umhlali police.
If anyone has any information about someone firing a paintball gun with solid and pepper ball bullets at the time mentioned above, please let me know at kevin.botha@hotmail.com. I would really like to avoid a recurrence in order to safeguard any other persons, children, and pets in the vicinity of another attack like this one.
